I was born and raised in Rockford, IL. After 18 years in my hometown, I ventured to Champaign to attend the University of Illinois. Unable to choose one thing I was interested in the most, I graduated with a major in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. A few months later, I began a Masters program in architecture and quickly learned that architecture was not for me. Since then I have worked full time doing design work and most recently began working as an art auctineer on cruise ships.
My beginnings with art started before I can even remember. In kindergarten I loved to color, in second grade my teachers were admiring my art projects, in seventh grade I was entering art contests. By high school it was clear that I had a talent and passion for art. Although it can be difficult to find the time, I like to keep a steady flow of projects going.
My artwork is based on beauty I find in a moment. I love to take pictures of scenes, people, and objects that I find captivating; these serve as the subject matter of the art I create. Whether it is people, places, or things, I love to capture interesting moments and the detail that makes life real. Detail in any respect fascinates me, and I try to recreate the light reflections, fabric textures, and material folds that make an image tangible. I think this makes art quite engaging.
The realistic and detailed quality of my work lends itself well to portraiture, and I have done many works for friends, family, or fans. Check these out in the Gallery.
Over the years I have created many pieces for friends, family, and fans of my work.
